Avionyx was acquired by Joby Aviation in 2022, a California-based company focused on developing electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Avionyx have played a key role in accelerating Joby's FAA certification journey, aiming for Type Inspection Authorization (TIA) flight testing to begin in 2026.

The Rapita and Avionyx partnership brings together two companies uniquely focused on supporting the aerospace and defense industry. Avionyx use the Rapita Verification Suite to accelerate the development and certification of complex avionics projects for customers in the Americas, including at DO-178C Design Assurance Level A (“DAL A”).

A key focus of the partnership is supporting advanced multi-core projects through Rapita’s MACH178 framework, which provides a robust methodology for satisfying AC 20-193 objectives, including tool support for multi-core timing analysis.
