RVS 3.25 brings a range of enhancements to help you get more from zero-footprint analysis using hardware trace data. The release improves the reporting and robustness of zero-footprint analysis and adds support for new embedded platforms, all without requiring instrumentation of your application code.
Get clearer results from your trace data
Zero-footprint analysis lets you collect timing, coverage and task-level information without modifying the production code or affecting its execution. This can be especially useful when working with resource-constrained targets, legacy or third-party software, and systems where maintaining the integrity of the executable is essential.
In RVS 3.25, we’ve improved several areas of zero-footprint analysis:
- Enhanced address-to-source mapping
- Improved detection of conditional branches
- Better handling of consecutive branch events
- Improved support for periodic synchronization events during branch trace analysis
Together, these changes improve reporting of coverage and execution information, helping you spend less time interpreting trace data and more time using the results to support your verification activities.
Use zero-footprint analysis on more targets
RVS 3.25 also extends zero-footprint support to more embedded targets.
A new Platform Support Package (PSP) adds support for uC/OS-II+MMU on ARM processors, and support has been extended to ARM Cortex-M7 processor cores.
