Presenting
Rapita will be presenting at NXP's 2022 MultiCore for Avionics (MCFA) Workshop. This virtual event will be structured as 4 half day interactive webinars, and provide MCFA members with unique access to critical information needed to develop and certify avionics systems using COTS multicore SoCs.
Rapita's talk "How can we certify a QorIQ® T2080 with 150+ potential sources of interference?" will be delivered on 10 November 2022 at 11am (Central Time US). In this session, multicore certification expert Dr. Guillem Bernat, will outline certification activities and resources that can be flexibly integrated into your existing DO-178C workflow to satisfy the full scope of multicore certification objectives.
Presentaion details:
The adoption of multicore processors like the QorIQ® T2080 is critical to developing the next generation of avionics platforms, both in the civil and military domain. One of the main challenges when verifying multicore-hosted software is identifying and quantifying the effects of interference on system behavior including execution time. In the T2080 processor, Rapita engineers identified over 150 potential interference channels that can lead to multicore interference.
We will explore some of the “direct” and “indirect” interference channels that can be present in the T2080. We will also explore how factors such as the critical configuration settings of the system, which off-chip devices are being used, and how they are being used, can create new potential interference channels. Finally, we will describe our approach to certifying that multicore avionics systems are safe in line with the guidance provided in DO-178C, AC 20-193, AMC 20-193 and CAST-32A.
